Cookies are snacks that everyone knows and loves. But not everyone knows how to make them. Before you get overwhelmed with buying cookies, premade or otherwise, try making them yourself. It's not hard, so try these recipes for a few minutes. They might just become your new favorite thing to eat.
You can always find the dough or cookie mix ingredients in the grocery store or make your own from scratch. Note: Cookie dough doesn't keep very well, so use it soon after you make it. Ensure it stays in an airtight container in the fridge, and chill it as long as possible before using it. Use your new cookie recipe for baking soft or hard cookies. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are popular throughout the globe. These cookies are a classic, and you'll see them pretty much everywhere you look. The ingredients are:

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda (soda with baking powder)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Ensure the oven has been preheated to 375. Line a baking sheet with some parchment paper or a Silpat. In a large bowl, beat egg and sugar together until thick. Add butter and vanilla; beat until creamy. Mix in flour, soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in Chocolate Chips. Using a heaping tablespoon, drop cookie dough onto the prepared cookie sheet 2" apart from each other. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-10 minutes. Cookies are done when they're lightly brown on the edges but still soft in the center. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheet. 

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Oatmeal raisin cookies are a favorite among people of all ages. These are easy to make, and they taste delicious! Its ingredients are:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt  
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups flour

Set the oven to 350 degrees and allow the oven to come to temperature. Line a baking sheet using some parchment paper. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until pale yellow. Add flour, oatmeal, baking powder, and salt; beat until smooth. Fold in egg and mix just until combined. Shape dough into balls 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned, and the cookies are set but still soft in the middle.

Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal cookies are most loved because they are relatively simple to make. These cookies will always be great if you use quality ingredients and follow the basic recipe. The ingredients are:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ tsp vanilla extract

The oven should be preheated to 375 degrees before you begin. Use your lined baking shteet. Mix the salt, cinnamon, baking soda and flour. Now add oats and stir until combined. In a separate bowl, cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, beating until well mixed after each addition. Add vanilla extract. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Drop dough onto the prepared cookie sheet using a heaping tablespoon of dough 2-3 inches apart from each other.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.  Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Cookies are fun to make and delicious to eat. The best part about making your cookies is that you can customize them however you see fit. You can use different flavors and different types of chocolate chips or even fill the dough with other stuff if you desire.
